Remember to stock up on Christmas greenery to complete the look inside and out. The Home Depot offers plenty of wreaths, garland, swag and colorful poinsettias. We take care of the often-overlooked decorating details, too. Make sure you pick up enough hooks and hangers to properly secure all of your decorations, as well as the appropriate extension cords and surge protectors to protect you and your family from electrical accidents. And when the holiday season is officially over, safely store away your Christmas wreaths, trees, ornaments and lights in one of our many Christmas decor storage options.
If your favorite part of Christmas is the abundance of candy canes, then this Christmas front door decoration is right up your alley. Hang two large outdoor candy canes on either side of your door, the hooked parts facing in opposite directions. If the candy canes you pick up don’t have enough sparkle for your liking, then add some glitter spray, which can easily be found at any craft store. To really give this look some pizazz, loop some candy cane print ribbon around a wreath, finishing off your unique DIY christmas decoration with some metallic green and red bulbs.
Adorned with jingle bells, red jute webbing runs down the length of the tree. Burlap poinsettias add a decorative touch, and a seven-point star hand-crafted from vintage sheet music hits an especially high note. Antique sleds are a practically sized sub-in for a one-horse open sleigh. Tip: Assign each family member a sled, and pile on gifts accordingly.
Bring that festive feeling to every part of your home with versatile indoor decor pieces. Verdant wreaths make a welcoming addition to your entryway, while lush garlands wrap around mantels and banisters for a rustic traditional feel. Browse our collection of classic Christmas stockings to hang by the chimney, with personalized style options for that perfect holiday gift.
Fuzzy felt mittens lend a hand to the cold-weather theme, as do snowmen, snowflakes, and ice skates, all in a crisp blue-and-white palette. On the stairs, another sprinkling of snowflakes and a pair of vintage ice skates spruce up a simple, rambling garland. Below the tree, a glittering Christmas village atop faux sheepskin rugs makes for a cool alternative to the standard gift display.

When it comes to the holiday season, there’s no better way to show your neighbors and visiting friends and family that you’re enjoying the spirit of the season than by creating a beautiful decoration scheme on your front door. Christmas front door decors are a festive surprise that makes those who visit your home feel truly welcomed. Christine and Gabe Bridger, who own this cozy Michigan home, used vintage sweaters to craft their own unique stockings. To make your own, begin by taking an old sweater and tracing a stocking template, then cutting and sewing it inside out. (Make sure the foldover is sewn the opposite way.) Using scraps, sew on a loop, then add a monogram using metal house letters.

Fresh garlands are gorgeous, but customize yours to give it a touch of fun and to ensure it fits in with the existing environment. Grab some construction paper in vibrant colors and then cut out some seasonal shapes (like these triangle trees). Then glue them together and hang them from your garland. To make it all match, tie a ribbon in a corresponding color around the end of the banister.

Hey, all you Christmas tree lovers, this one is for you! This year, I have been obsessed with tabletop trees. They are classy and add the perfect seasonal décor touch to any room. However they can be expensive, which is why I decided to make my own for just a few dollars. I headed to my local Dollar Tree and picked up a few artificial tabletop trees, some faux flowers and greenery, a tree topper, and a basket for just $1 each. Using white spray paint I had at home, I frosted the trees to make them appear as though they were dusted with snow. I topped them off with the faux flowers and greeney and set them in a basket with white tissue paper and voila… festive décor on a budget!
What would Christmas be without some tasty sweets? This Christmas decoration idea is inspired by all things sweet and delicious that make the Christmas season so great. To create the candy garland, just paint ping-pong or small Styrofoam balls in various bright candy colors, then string them together with a needle and thread. To create the candy cane-inspired polka-dot planters, just cut out circles from a sheet of red vinyl material and hot glue them to a tin planter. Finish the look by scattering some faux gifts wrapped in candy cane-print gift wrap nearby your entryway.
